Patriots are currently 3-3 and 1-1 in League.
This year has been tough than those before. The boys team has a lot of first year wrestlers filling holes this year. As a result we were not as successful as previous years at Hilltop Tournament where we took 2nd last year. Six boys medaled this weekend with a Bronze won by Koa Altmeyer, Hondo Hamel and Barrett Talbot. Alex Adler and Francisco Saroldi took 2nd and Abudllah Alshami took 1st.
In league news, last Wednesday we had a big win against La Jolla with 60-16 and loss to Scripps by boys but a win by girls with a pin by Destiny Torres.
Destiny Torres is one of the best novice wrestlers in San Diego as she took 2nd at the Olympian Novice Tournament. Aubry Lund took third while the team captain Violet Gray in a bracket with 17 girls took 4th place after four wins and two losses. The girls had their first varsity tournament this weekend at Clairmont HS. Four girls competed and Patrick Henry ended up placing 10th out of 19 teams with our first year wrestler Aubry and Violet both taking 4th place.
Three boys are still in the running for a League Championship with Koa Altmeyer, Ethan Vinoray and Francisco Saroldi-Gonzalez looking to secure a spot on the Henry Wrestling room wall.
This week we will take on UC High School for our Senior Night on Wednesday at 5pm for the last home match of the season.
