On December 14th 2022, about a dozen Patrick Henry Wrestling alumni showed up to the first league home match against Point Loma. In front of the alumni, parents and fans, Patriot JV and Varsity wrestlers fought to a decided win of 55-29.
During the match, new record boards were displayed with past placements and records of Patrick Henry wrestlers going back to 1973.
After the match, alumni went into their old wrestling room where the left blood, sweat and tears and gave words of encouragement and advice to the current wrestlers. The gist of it was wrestling is hard but it is rewarding, enjoy this time because you won’t get to have this experience ever again, and of course, the classic wrestling advice: “don’t reach back”.
